The subject of this book is the author's proposed connection between violence and shame. The writing was pretty good, with touches of creativity. The best that I can say for the content is that it led me to explore the topic of narcissism further. To some extent, I agree with his premise, but his evidence wasn't enough to win me to his way of thinking his manner of argument failed and his conclusion seems misguided to me.

(Philippians 4:8) This passage is a major challenge for me. The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. (I Timothy 1:5) I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
