A Challenge from God

           if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (II Chronicles 7:14)

Yes, I’ve discussed this verse before, but today it’s come back to mind, possibly with a slight variation that might be just what someone needs to hear.  First, the basics. If God’s people, who are called by God’s name… that’s us. Will humble themselves…that’s us. And pray…that’s us, And seek His face and turn from their wicked ways… that’s us. Then God will hear from heaven, and God will forgive our sins and heal our land.

So, what’s your problem? What problems do you see? I don’t mean that in a negative way. What are the problems in your household, neighborhood, city, county, or nation. What are your sins? What are the sins in your home, neighborhood, city, county, nation. What wicked ways get in the way? What healing needs to take place. Make a list. Don’t hold back.

Humbly take them to God. Confess your part. Pray. Seek His face. Ask Him to heal you and use you to heal your land. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you in some way and to reveal yourself or the change that needs to be made to your thinking. This challenge from God requires our participation. Between now and the end of the year would be a good time to pray about this.

The Shepherd!

Meditations of the Heart

  May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. (Psalm19:14)           As I started writing this post, I noted that the meditations of my heart are all over the mental landscape, from a hub where eight superhighways come together to a lunar or nuclear landscape.
