He said to me: “It is done. I am the
Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will
give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. (Rev 21:6)
Why are things always in the last
place we'd look? Because once we find them, we don't keep looking! Jesus is the
End because once we find Him, we don't have to keep looking. The same is true
with most other ends. When you get to the end of the rope or the end of the
road, there's nowhere to go. When you reach the end of your journey, you're home.
It is because Jesus is the end that He provides all that we need (the means) in order to reach Him. Everything that had to be done for us to be in right relationship with God was done. Jesus said, "It is finished," and He's the one who finished it.
