“Can you fathom the mysteries of God?
Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than the heavens—what
can you do? They are deeper than the depths of the grave—what can you know?
Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea.(Job 11:7-9)
"You
are getting on my last nerve."
"I've
run out of patience."
"I
just don't love him anymore."
"My
get up and go just got up and went."
"I'm
so over this."
"Sorry,
all sold out.."
As
finite, created beings, we have our limits. We can only survive just so much,
and while sometimes that survival is amazing, more often than not, we're are so
fragile; so feeble. While God sets limits, He does not have limits. He doesn't
run out. If He withholds, it is not because His resources (including His love
and mercy) are low.
Think
about it. God, the Son, gave up His life, but I'm going to suggest that He not
only did not stay dead, but could not stay dead. His resurrection is a proof of
His infinite nature. I often feel as if I need whole bunches of His patience,
His love, His grace. I'm thankful that I can ask God for something of Himself
without feeling greedy. There's plenty for all with lots of leftovers in case
you want another helping.
