And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17)
The second quote above is described as a typical Pilgrim thanksgiving prayer. I don’t think the Pilgrims would mind if you used it as the grace said before your feast today.
Yesterday morning, I finished weeding two places, and have
two more that should be done tomorrow morning, apart from a small tree stump
that someone else is going to have to remove. I think that’s six that I’ve
completed. As I walk by them, I think, “Oh, that looks so much better.” I’m
glad I’ve done them. I’m thankful that they’re done. It’s worth the muscle aches
and tiny splinters (yes, I wear gloves) to see them looking good.
Today, as you host or attend dinner, is there some little
effort or little added effort that can make the day one that you can be glad
you did, that will be worth the aches or tiny “splinters”?
